Linux Mint - a user-friendly distribution focused on simplicity and stability. Popular among users switching from Windows.

Pop!_OS - a distribution focused, among other things, on performance and modern hardware, popular among gamers and users of powerful PCs.

SteamOS - a specialized Linux distribution from Valve, closely associated with the Steam service and the Steam Deck handheld. It was this that significantly helped popularize Linux as a gaming platform.

Open-source character - Linux is an open platform that can be modified, adapted and run on a wide range of devices.

Steam and Proton - essential technologies that allow many games originally intended for Windows to run on Linux without a native version.

Distribution - instead of one version, there are many different distributions that differ in environment, focus and level of user-friendliness.

Wide hardware variability - Linux can run on ordinary office computers, gaming sets, servers and handhelds like the Steam Deck.

A major role in the platform's modern identity is played by its connection to Steam, community support, and the ability to play thousands of PC games outside of Windows.
