About the game

Dying Light is a first-person action survival game from Polish studio Techland. It takes place in the fictional city of Harran, which was closed after an outbreak of an infection that turned its inhabitants into aggressive infected. The game combines parkour movement in an open world with dynamic combat and survival elements.

Story

As a secret agent Kyle Crane, you penetrate a quarantine zone to obtain important documents that can affect the further development of the epidemic. The story gradually develops through completing missions and meeting different factions of survivors. The player learns about the moral dilemmas, political intrigues and personal sacrifices associated with surviving in an isolated city.

Gameplay

The basis is smooth parkour, encounters with infected and collecting raw materials needed to craft weapons and equipment. A key element is the day and night cycle — while the infected are relatively slow during the day, extremely dangerous Volatile units appear at night, which fundamentally change the pace of the game. Dying Light emphasizes mobility, tactics, and resource management.

Technical state

Powered by Chrome Engine 6, the game features a vast urban environment with detailed objects and striking lighting. Optimization allows for smooth movement even during fast-paced action and complex parkour. The atmosphere is complemented by a dynamic sound design that adds to the tension, especially during nighttime escapes.
