Dishonored overview

About the game

Dishonored is a first-person action-adventure stealth game from Arkane Studios. It takes players to the dark, industrial city of Dunwall, which combines Victorian architecture with elements of steampunk and supernatural forces. The emphasis is on freedom of choice and thoughtful mission design, where every decision has multiple solutions.

Story

You take on the role of Corvo Attan, the personal bodyguard of the Empress, who is falsely accused of her murder. On the run and determined to clear his name, Corvo becomes entangled in the power intrigues of Dunwall. With the help of the resistance and the mysterious Outsider, he gains supernatural abilities, and his next steps determine the future of the entire city — from discreet revenge to brutal elimination of enemies.

Gameplay

Dishonored is built on the freedom of play style: you can sneak in the shadows without a single kill, or choose to fight openly. A wide range of abilities — teleportation (Blink), stopping time or controlling enemies — allows for creative solutions to obstacles. The so-called Chaos system reacts to your choices, affecting the behavior of the world and the form of the story's ending.

Technical state

The stylized Half-Life 2 visual presentation, artistic supervision by Victor Antonov (creator of the design of City 17 from Half-Life 2), and orchestral soundtrack create a unique atmosphere of Dunwall. The game is meticulously designed in terms of level design — each area offers alternative routes, secret entrances and the opportunity to experiment with combinations of abilities.
