About the game

Half-Life: Alyx is a first-person VR FPS set in the world of the iconic Half-Life series. Developed by Valve, the title returns to a universe ruled by the totalitarian alien regime the Combine. The game is designed exclusively for virtual reality and pushes the boundaries of environmental manipulation, interaction and immersive storytelling.

Story

The story takes place between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2. In the role of Alyx Vance, you and your father try to find a way to weaken the Combine's dominance over Earth. During a covert operation, you come across an unexpected revelation - a project for a mysterious fortress that could change the fate of the entire planet. The story is intimate, exciting and deeply touches on the lore of the series.

Gameplay

The game relies on realistic interaction with the environment - opening drawers, searching shelves, manually reloading weapons and hacking devices. The fights are intense and force the player to use cover and physical movement. The Gravity Gloves allow you to pull objects like the Gravity Gun, but adapted for VR. Alyx is proof that VR is not just an add-on, but a full-fledged gaming experience.

Technical state

Half-Life: Alyx is based on the Source 2 engine and offers exceptionally detailed environments, sophisticated lighting and interaction physics. Thanks to the perfect processing of space, sound and animation, it has long been at the technological forefront of VR.
